Canada–Uruguay relations are foreign relations between Canada and Uruguay. Both countries established diplomatic relations in January 1953. Canada has an embassy in Montevideo.〔(Embassy of Canada in Montevideo )〕 Uruguay has an embassy in Ottawa (the ambassador being also concurrent to Iceland), 2 general consulate in Montreal and Toronto, and an honorary consulate in Vancouver.〔(Embassy of Uruguay in Ottawa )〕 Canada and Uruguay have a Foreign Investment Protection Agreement (FIPA) which came into force in 1999; a bilateral Social Security Agreement that came into force in January 2002; and a bilateral Audiovisual Co-Production Agreement to encourage joint film productions, which came into force in October 2005. Both countries are full members of the Cairns Group and of the Organization of American States. == See also ==
